Slow Cooker Maple Baked Beans
It's the perfect opportunity to make classic baked beans... or rather pancetta baked beans. To avoid having to soak dry white beans for hours, I recommend trying a slow cooker! It's the perfect tool!
Ingredients
- 2 lb (900g) small dry white beans
- 1/2 lb (250g) diced pancetta (I buy mine at Costco)
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) Dijon mustard
- 1 (156 ml / 5 ½ oz) can tomato paste
- 1 chopped onion, 1/2 cup (125 ml) maple syrup
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) molasses
- 2 L (8 cups) water
- Salt and pepper
Step 1. Rinse the beans thoroughly.
Step 2. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker and stir well.
Step 3. Cook on HIGH for 8 to 10 hours
Step 4. Yum!
Pro tip: Cook baked beans overnight for the perfect breakfast!
