Maple cake
A perfect small pound cake ideal for brunch or enjoying with coffee! The concept behind pound cake is very simple. The weight of the eggs determines the weight of the other ingredients: flour, sugar, and butter. This means the four ingredients will each make up one quarter of the total mixture. Enjoy your meal!
Ingredients
- 3 eggs (185g)
- 185g all-purpose flour
- 185g butter
- 92g maple sugar
- 93g maple syrup
- 2 tsp (10 ml) baking powder
Preparation
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and thoroughly grease a baking pan.
Step 2. In a bowl, cream the butter.
Step 3. Add the maple sugar. Once everything is fully combined, add the maple syrup.
Step 4. Next, add 1 egg at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Step 5. Stir the baking powder into the flour.
Step 6. Add the flour to the wet mixture in 2 to 3 separate portions.
Step 7. Transfer the batter to the greased baking pan.
Step 8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, then let cool completely.
