Shipping, new products and adventures
Hello!
In this short text, Pierre-Olivier and Victor are going to share our thoughts on boreal daal, Gaspé ramens, and the forest risotto from DuNord, a company whose mission includes rescuing 5% of Quebec vegetables left in fields to dehydrate them and incorporate them into their recipes. All three of these products are sold in their shop. We tested these three meals during our biking adventure in South Massif Park.
The Gaspé Ramen 🍜
The Gaspé ramen recipe could be considered a more luxurious take on traditional ramen. Though it looks more like spaghetti paired with a delicious, slightly spicy tomato sauce—think again! This isn’t tomato sauce, but rather a sauce made with red miso, paired with shiitake mushrooms, dried tomatoes, and plenty of other great ingredients. The ramens were delicious, just like the broth. Plus, it was super easy to cook. All in all, everyone loved it.
The Boreal Daal
Daal is a delicious lentil dish that will please everyone. The spice blend is absolutely incredible, and just like the ramen, everyone loved it. When we cooked this meal, the three of us practically had ''daal'' steam coming out of our noses (hihihi) because the amazing aroma from the cooking process had us absolutely ecstatic.
Forest Risotto

The risotto would have been excellent if Pierre-Olivier hadn’t famously burned it. Ever since that meal, the pot has been permanently blackened. Even so, the spice blend was fantastic. The moral of the story: stay focused when making risotto :)
All in all, this camping supper was fantastic, paired with delicious maple popcorn and maple almonds to make our experience even better!
Happy hiking everyone this summer!
